Menos No Es Mas: Illustration & Print Design

Menos no es más is a guided recovery journal for eating disorders, created in collaboration with influencer Mariana Palacios (1.5M+ followers). The journal combines therapeutic guidance with interactive prompts, emotion trackers, and art therapy exercises to support users in their healing process. I collaborated on the project’s visual identity, illustration style, and overall print design, with a focus on delivering a calming, approachable aesthetic aligned with the subject matter.

My contributions included designing original illustrations, spot graphics, single pages, and full spreads for coated paper, as well as multi-page layouts for uncoated stock using a two-ink system. I structured the interactive sections, such as trackers and daily reflections, for ease of use and visual balance. Throughout the project, I ensured that all design elements were converted to print-ready vectors, outlined all fonts, and optimized paths for clarity and scalability.

On the production side, I handled color proofing, print setup, and final file preparation, applying CMYK color profiles and Pantone spot colors to ensure consistency across materials. I set precise bleeds, crop marks, safe zones, margins, and trim sizes, performing thorough quality control on all print PDFs to prevent resolution issues, font substitution, or overprint errors. Special attention was given to maintaining color fidelity across coated and uncoated papers, ensuring therapeutic visuals translated smoothly from screen to print.
